Job Description
ASRC Management Services (AMS), a wholly owned Subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is currently seeking a Librarian IV in Denver, CO. This position provides four basic technical functions for library services at the US EPA Region 8 Technical Library: reference service for EPA staff and the public, promotion of the library’s services and collection, Interlibrary Loan service, and collection maintenance. The desired results are: support of EPA staff research, support of public inquires about the environment, patron awareness of library holdings and services, efficient Interlibrary Loan service, and a collection of current environmental resources, traditional and electronic. Essential Job Functions Provide extensive and ready (quick) reference service for EPA staff and the public Promote the library’s services and collection through outreach projects Process Interlibrary Loan requests, both lending and borrowing Assist in collection maintenance by cataloging using OCLC Connexionand OLS systems Other Job Functions Develop pathfinders, guides, directories, and other tools which guide users to relevant environmental information sources Prepare and present training sessions on library information products and services for EPA staff Maintain an effective circulation system and journal tracking system Post environmental news daily Keep statistics of work performedAdditional Info & Requirements
Requirements: MLS/MLIS degree from ALA accredited school Working knowledge of library functions and services Public speaking abilities Organizational skills Writing skills Computer proficiency Work Environment and Physical Demands Library environment, including desk work, also able to move boxes and shelve using a step ladder.
