Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES: *Within a team-based environment, provides leadership and management to assure that library services fully support teaching and learning at FRCC. *Staffs reference desk, circulation and library instruction approximately 20 hours per week including some evenings and weekends. *Serves as a liaison to Westminster Public Library to assure that library services run efficiently and effectively. *Develops and manages library budget; works with staff to assure that library resources are appropriately allocated. *Provides reference/research assistance to library patrons in a variety of formats, which may include one-to-one in person assistance, interactive web based assistance, and development of print or electronic materials and resources to guide patrons to find information. *Develops and delivers library instruction in a classroom environment. *Actively participates with CHL professional staff in decision-making regarding library database and print collection purchases. *Prepares or assists in the preparation of various reports, including monthly activity reports and the annual library expenditure report. *Remains current on trends within library services, particularly as they pertain to community colleges.

Additional Info & Requirements

Required: *Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program required. *Knowledge of library automation systems, information technologies, and computer applications in academic libraries. *Clear understanding of the evolving role of the academic library in a time of complex transition in the technologies of scholarly knowledge. *Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, when required. Preferred: Experience in a community college working with students and with faculty; management and supervisory experience.

The Community

College Hill Library is a joint venture between Front Range Community College and the City of Westminster. The building was designed to fit into it's natural surrounding and features great views of the Rocky Mountains.
