Job Description

Position Task Statements: • Help maintain the accuracy of information on the e-global library® websites. • Tracks and Processes Interlibrary Loan Requests using World Cat Resource Sharing and other interlibrary loan services. • Purchase articles and books from third party vendors • Researches article citations using Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) and other databases for interlibrary loan purposes • Keep general statistics related to the library-database and reference usage for JIU and e-global library clients. • Copyedit web pages in e-global library • Filing, photocopying and special projects as assigned • Other Duties as assigned by the Head Librarian • Coordinate the planning, design, development, integration, implementation and maintenance of automated systems • Provided reference service to students, faculty and staff. • Work with JII and JK to maintain the library websites • Research new library solutions • Research and add free resources to the library • Run database comparison reports • Maintain ERMS – license/contact/admin info for all library resources, updated as needed • Work with instructional designers to integrate library readings inside of the JIU Courseware system • Quality check library readings inside courses. • Create new tutorials, citation, writing style and database tutorials for library clients • Set up authentication to 3rd party databases via EZproxy (new or add to configuration), username/password, referring URL) • Fulfill requests for recommendations on content
