Job Description

Student & Stacks Supervisor (Library Tech III) - G3C4XX Posting Reference #: 811799 Monthly Pay Min: $3,128 - Pay Grade G42 Plus excellent benefits package including paid vacation, holidays, sick days and PERA state retirement benefits. Note: Occasional evenings and weekends. Nature of Work: Government Information Library, University of Colorado Libraries This position assists researchers in finding and using federal, international, foreign, and state government information; provides general reference services to students, faculty, and staff in person and via IM, telephone, or e-mail. The position hires, trains, and supervises 2.5 FTE student workers. It prepares payroll information and tracks the student budget. The position loads record sets from Marcive (federal) and the Colorado State Library and maintains quality control by verifying information: combining, editing, and deleting duplicate records using the Millennium cataloging system, MARCedit, the Cataloging of Government Publications (CGP), and other tools. It provides oversight and planning for stacks maintenance including shelving, shifting, filing of microfiche. The position supervises the Library Technician II who creates check-in records and verifies shipping lists for incoming materials from all levels of government.

**Only residents of the state of Colorado may apply for these positions.** Minimum Qualifications: Four years of general library experience involving typing, ordering, preparing, shelving, and maintaining library materials including two years of technical library experience involving cataloging/classifying, providing reference and patron services, and creating/revising procedures. Substitution: Two years of course work from an accredited college or university including twelve semester hours of library science course work may substitute for two years of the general library experience.
