Job Description

Job description: You are a connector of people to a good cause, managing the district’s fundraising efforts and building a strong base of financial donors to fund the innovations for Anythink libraries. You understand the importance of sharing the Anythink story with our local community and the world and inspire individuals and corporations alike to support our cause. You are a sleuth at heart, uncovering and securing grants by communicating our compelling story. You are a networking natural, able to remember VIPs and make connections for our Foundation board. You provide the power of philanthropy and its key role in achieving our organization’s goals. Your vision: •You develop overall long-term and short-term funding goals, researching private and public sources of grants for the district. •You are passionate about Anythink’s mission and share your enthusiasm with potential corporate sponsors. •You are a wizard at identifying and developing relationships with individual donors; you know the who’s who of Colorado. •You understand the power of philanthropic foundations and have a knack for building relationships with key players from these entities. •You support the Foundation board, developing relationships and lending your leadership and strategic influences to guide the funding efforts for the district. •You are a positive motivator, inspiring Foundation board members to reach new heights in fundraising efforts. •You are the champion of grant writing for the district, using your passion for Anythink to write grants and other proposals for potential funding opportunities. •You use language to further our mission, developing solicitation literature, including personalized letters, to strengthen the relationships with potential and current sponsors of the library. •You love to throw a good party, sharing your creative ideas to ensure fundraising events capture the spirit of Anythink. •You are an explorer of partnership that enhance our library services and programs. •You are actively engaged and add value to Anythink’s leadership team in goal setting and strategic planning. •You love our products. You are a voracious reader, listen to a diverse range of music, and love a good movie. •You collaborate with Boards and library staff to understand funding needs. •You demonstrate excellent communication skills with our community, library staff, Board of Trustees Foundation Board, and district leadership. •You think like an entrepreneur. You understand budgeting and what it takes to develop, oversee and actively manage the development budget and run your organization responsibly with a great bottom line. •You do the right thing. We are guided by these shared values: Compassion for our customers and each other Passion for our product Eagerness to learn Optimistic attitude – we believe that anything is possible Your job will involve your being “on the move” in our libraries: You will stand, walk, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, climb, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and lift up to 25 pounds. , Do you have what it takes? •You have 3 + years of business development or corporate/foundation fundraising /non-profit experience. •You have been an integral part of a business, library, or nonprofit organization’s success story. •You have a bachelor’s degree. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, adapt flexibly to changing priorities, and meet deadlines with a high-speed environment. •You are tech savvy. You are computer literate, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, online resources and expert searching capabilities for internet tools.
