Job Description

Reporting directly to the Head Public Services Librarian, this position provides traditional and virtual access to library collections for individuals and groups by providing instruction in locating, obtaining and using information resources. Manages service operations during assigned evening and weekend hours. Duties and responsibilities include the following: •Serve as library liaison to assigned academic departments. •Provide service at the reference desk during scheduled hours. •Plan, coordinate, promote and assess services to distance students. •Participate in the collection development process, evaluating resources for inclusion or withdrawal from the collection. •Participate in bibliographic instruction program. •Assist in the design, planning and implementation of library programs, policies and procedures. •Represent the Library, on and off-campus at the discretion of the Library Director. •Maintain pathfinders, tutorials, research guides, and assist with web development. •Assist with the training and supervision of student employees in the Public Services Department.
