Job Description

Purpose of the Position: This position is at the New Mexico State Library, in the Development Services Bureau. Development Services supports the growth and sustainability of public libraries in New Mexico. Its purpose is to coordinate an effective and continuously improving continuing education program that provides regular, proactive, and responsive training events (including core librarian competency skills) librarians and library workers throughout the state. This position also offers general consulting to libraries by providing library management and best practices information to clients, supplying advice and information. Bargaining Unit Position: This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to. Work Environment: Driving, bending, lifting, standing, sitting, reaching. Must drive a vehicle. Frequent instate travel with occasional overnight stays. Works for hours at a time on a computer. Agency Mission & Description: The New Mexico State Library is part of the Department of Cultural Affairs. Created in 1978 by the New Mexico Legislature, the Department of Cultural Affairs represents New Mexico's dedication to preserving and celebrating the cultural integrity and diversity of our state.
