Job Description
The Junior Librarian will be responsible for a variety of reference collection development, cataloguing, and general collection maintenance duties, working proactively as part of an energetic team. • Catalogue and label reference documents and books, including subject heading and call number classification; • Catalogue, label, and archive project deliverables/reports; hardcopy and electronic; • Create records for electronic resources compiled from full-text subscriptions; • Catalogue and maintain journals collection; purchase reference materials for internal staff and keep all materials current • Charging and discharging items for internal clients; • Shelve reference documents, books, and project deliverables/reports; • Assist with the development of special collections for internal clients; • Various QA/QC, data entry, and shelf-reading duties related to maintaining the completeness and integrity of the reference and deliverables/reports collection; • Other Library & Information Services duties as assignedThe Community

• 2 year diploma in Library Information Technology from an accredited school; years of experience can be substituted for Library Information Technology diploma requirement; • Must have at least 1 year Library Information Technology experience • Working knowledge of web-based integrated library system products, specifically Inmagic products (Genie and/or DBText for SQL); • Strong data entry skills; • Must be able to prioritize tasks, and able to finish tasks efficiently and accurately; • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
