Job Description
The Adams State College’s Nielsen Library is currently seeking applicants for a Serials & Electronic Resources Librarian. This position is responsible for the integration of e-resources into the library catalog and other databases while also managing the seamless access to our subscription resources in all formats. This position also provides reference assistance, subject expertise in an academic area and serves on library and campus committees. The Serials & Electronic Resources Librarian supervises one full-time classified staff member and may supervise work study and other hourly employees on a periodic basis. This position reports to the Library Director. Summary of Responsibilities - Manage print, microfilm, and electronic serials - Manage electronic resources including EBSCOhost, ebrary, e-government publications and other products. - Maintain accurate holdings and access points. - Evaluate and negotiate licenses. - Serve as a liaison with multiple academic departments. - Draft and implement departmental policies. - Staff the reference desk. - Evening and weekend shifts may be required. - Shift, re-shelve, and process bound periodicals. - Other responsibilities as assigned by the Library Director.Additional Info & Requirements
Required: Master’s Degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program. Serials and database management experience, excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, commitment to customer service and teamwork, ability to work independently and be self-motivated. Prefer experience in: Cataloging, III Millennium ILS, Gold Rush or other link resolver product, PC applications, academic librarianship, internet and database searching, bi-lingual in Spanish.The Community
