Job Description
The Branch Manageris responsible for overseeing library service in two branches in the east region of the City of Wichita. The incumbent will be expected to perform the following tasks in an exceptional manner: • Select, supervise, and coach staff two branch locations. • Mentor branch staff and build and maintain relationships with community members. • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes. • Provide quality customer service. • Resolve personnel, customer complaints, and facility issues. • Develop and oversee diverse library programs and services to meet the rapidly evolving needs of community residents. To be successful in this position, one will need to be an outstanding manager, an effective communicator, and a successful relationship builder. The ability to multi-task and prioritize service in a busy branch environment are essential skills for this position. Effective abilities in personnel management, outstanding communication skills, a strong customer service commitment, and competency with technologies including personal computer applications and integrated library systems are also necessary. The position reports to the Customer Services Administrator.Additional Info & Requirements
a minimum of two years of professional library experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous Supervisory experience is preferred. Residency within thirty minutes lawful driving time of the corporate limits of the City of Wichita will be required of the successful applicant.HR Info
