Job Description

Due to creation of a new position and an internal transfer, Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility and Trinidad Correctional Facility libraries are each in need of a Library Technician. This position works directly with offenders, providing public/school-type (not law) library services to adult male offenders in a state correctional facility where over 90% of the population are library users. Responsibilities also include supervising, training and evaluating offender workers and using the ILS to maintain cataloging and circulation data, and for statistical reporting. Prior correctional experience is not required. Additional Info & Requirements

2 years of course work from an accredited college or university, including 12 semester hours of library science course work, may substitute for the 2 years of general library experience. Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid State of Colorado Driver's License, have NO felony convictions, and successfully complete the DOC Basic Training Academy.
