Job Description

The Digital Services Librarian assists in the management and planning of digital services for Jones e-global library clients and is responsible for a broad range of services and duties related to library websites and digital content and services. The Librarian should be capable of leveraging structured project management techniques to effectively manage small to large-scale web-based projects across multiple disciplines on time and within budget. The Digital Services Librarian works closely with the e-global library team to support and troubleshoot library services related to the following: digital library configuration and maintenance, electronic resource loading and management, and remote access. This individual will be able to ensure a high level of client satisfaction with a focus on responsiveness, resolution of problem situations and successful completion of deliverables.

Additional Info & Requirements

• Familiarity with standard computer technologies and information architecture fundamentals • Experience with website administration, accessibility, and usability • Familiarity with digital asset management systems. • Familiarity with MARC and non-MARC metadata standards (e.g., Dublin Core, EAD) • Background or understanding of taxonomies and schemas • Technical support experience especially working with database aggregators or supporting products and services for libraries, librarians, and students. • Familiarity with features, functionality and administration of database aggregator products for the library market. • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. • Demonstrated problem solving skills. • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical issues to a non-technical audience. • Highly motivated and strong customer service orientation, including interest in supporting, improving and developing products for libraries, library patrons, and other users.
