Job Description

Adams County School District 50 seeks a District Library Media Leader. (8 hours per day, 220 days per year) Please apply online at www.adams50.org. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: *Reports to Director of Learning Services. *Provides leadership, staff development, and assistance to Media, Textbook, Library Staff, and appropriate administrators by developing, recommending, implementing, and monitoring plans and programs related to the overall Library Media program. *Direct supervision of District Media staff: Music, Textbook, and Cataloging. *Provide leadership, guidance, and support to library media personnel and administrators in the implementation of library media programs based on evidence-based practice, 21st Century skills integration, and District and school strategic plans. *Perform or assist with mentoring, staff design, and professional development activities. *Provide ongoing support/coordination for both certified and classified library media personnel at each school. *Manage library collections of all non-certified library staff, including collection development and purchasing. *Provide appropriate professional development opportunities for both certified and classified Library, Textbook, and Media personnel at each school to promote an environment of 21st Century learning and achievement. *Develop, implement, and monitor current library media curriculum/programming to ensure District standards are met, including standards for use of state of the art automated library system and purchases of district-wide online information. *Oversee the end-user operation, maintenance, and on-going enhancement of the Library/Textbook/Media automation system in cooperation with other Tech Services personnel. Provide training as needed on usage of automation system and reporting features. *Guide the design and stocking of new school library media centers, as well as coordinate the overall collection development of all District libraries, brick and mortar or digital. *Create and maintain the Library Services webpage and oversee the online presence of all collections in coordination with the District webmaster and input from schools. *Work directly with vendors to negotiate discounted pricing and catalog processing on library resources and supplies. *Work with Learning Services in coordinating library and textbook selections to best facilitate student achievement. *Articulate and assist in implementing a vision for the role libraries play in integrating 21st Century skills, educational technology and information literacy (ET-IL) in learning processes. *Act as content expert in the presentation of Library, Textbook, and Media services resources, best practice, policies and procedures among parents, community, and staff. *Serve as liaison to District Stakeholders, constituents, and local and State agencies, regarding Library Media programming and initiatives, ensuring accountability and monitoring processes in place. *Establish relevant partnerships to enhance provision of services. Perform long-range planning strategies, including budget preparation and monitoring, and determining staff needs. *Develop/prepare grant proposals, monitoring grant funding, and maintain grant documentation for Federal/State reporting. *Fulfill contractual and professional responsibilities. *Perform other duties as assigned.

Must apply online at www.adams50.org.*Master's degree in Library or Information Technology. *Colorado Teacher's License; K-12 Library Media Endorsement; Valid Colorado Driver's License *Must pass various pre-employment background screenings *Excellent oral and written communication skills. *Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a high performance team. *Excellent facilitation skills (adult, student, community). *Excellent problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills, including budget oversight. *Working knowledge of computer applications (current library software programs). *Knowledge, experience and demonstrated leadership in library related content, exceptional instructional practices, educational technology and information literacy for the 21st Century student. *Knowledge of strategic planning. *Ability to work effectively as a member of multiple teams. *Ability to effectively communicate with the school district community. *Ability to perform responsibilities without the necessity of close supervision. *Excellent customer service and public relations skills. *Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired. *Three years experience in Teaching required. *Three to five years successful experience as a school Teacher Librarian desired. *Experience in 21st Century technology integration and instruction required.
