Job Description
Will provide creative leadership and direction in an increasingly collaborative and user-oriented library environment. Will maintain a team-based arrangement and provide supervision and direction of staff and service support. Provides library information services and instruction on the main campus and at teaching centers; prepares, administers and monitors budgets for acquisitions and operations; provides leadership in balancing traditional library collections with current digital environment and evolving technologies; serves on college committees, standing and ad hoc, to support college programs, services and activities; conducts assessments of services and personnel; analyzes data to improve library services, resources and operations; and develops creative and effective ways to build and maintain awareness of growing library resources. Directly reports to Vice President and Dean of Instruction and members of the Educational Programs Advisory Council.Additional Info & Requirements
Three years of experience as a director and three years of related library/supervisory experience. Experience in a community college setting preferred. Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and managerial skills. Must have demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, staff and student populations. Must possess excellent English oral and written communication skills. Must have a commitment to a collaborative work environment. Experience with information literacy instruction and online instruction preferred. Sirsi ILS and Blackboard LMS experience preferred. Some weekend hours and nights required.The Community
