Job Description

The University of Colorado Boulder Libraries invites applications for a temporary librarian in Scholarly Resource Development (SRD), a department that includes Collection Development, Acquisitions, and Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Borrowing. Primary duties include a variety of collections management, scholarly communications, assessment, and materials budget-related projects. This position participates in supporting SRD services such as purchase on demand programs, copyright compliance, building eBook collections, and providing training for e-resources. The position may assume liaison/bibliographer responsibilities in an area of the candidate’s expertise. Other duties as assigned may include creating content for the departmental website and participating in Acquisitions or ILL initiatives. This position holds the rank of lecturer and reports to the Director of Scholarly Resource Development. Appointment and Salary: The successful candidate will be appointed as a full-time lecturer at $3,333 per month. This appointment will end no later than June 30, 2013. Benefits include eligibility for the University group health care plan. This is a temporary position without funding to support relocation.

Requirements: Master’s degree from an ALA accredited library school completed or in progress; demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, strong interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills; course work or direct experience in collection development, acquisitions, or serials; understanding of emerging information technologies and scholarly communication. Desired Qualifications: Experience working with copyright or licensing for electronic resources; experience using library management and electronic resources systems such as Innovative Interfaces Millennium and ERM software; course work or direct experience with Web design using Dreamweaver; and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
