Job Description
ThunderRidge High School Library is looking for a dynamic individual who loves learning new technologies and teaching students and staff to use them. Must enjoy teenagers! This is a one year position, but may lead to longer employment. Job duties include: Responsible for providing appropriate assistance in the overall management of the Library Media Center, including supervision and instruction, oversight of the collection, equipment, and circulation system, and providing appropriate assistance with students and other people using and working in the LMC; assists with the use and management of the LMC instructional software systems, including electronic databases, Internet access and information retrieval in accordance with District policy; monitors and maintains the automated library CIRC/CAT system; maintains and troubleshoots library computer hardware, software, audiovisual and multimedia equipment; develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele; performs other related duties. Specific requirements: High school graduate or equivalent; minimum one to three years job-related experience; basic computer and word processing knowledge; knowledge of various types of computer hardware, software and networks; some knowledge of library media systems and audio-visual and multi-media equipment preferred; verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions; is flexible; works cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers; maintains a positive attitude. We provide extensive technology resources to teachers and students, and support learning for students with diverse skills and information needs. The library is evolving to provide instruction to students and teachers with emerging online technologies that can be accessed by computers, smart phones and iPads.
