Location: Books and Borrowing Department, Central Library, 13th & Broadway
Status/Schedule: Regular, full-time, 40 hours per week. The schedule will be determined by the needs of the department and may include evening and weekend hours.
Duties and Responsibilities: Creates forms, statistical reports, spreadsheets, and collection status reports to support department operations. Provides excellent customer service, in person and via telephone. Performs database maintenance, holds request list, collection maintenance activities, cash reporting, and supply ordering to support department operations. Processes fiction and non-fiction books. Coordinates copier and printer maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Skill in operating a computer, including MS Word & Excel. Ability to work with attention to detail and to make simple mathematical computations. Ability to work with computer databases, including report creation and analysis. Skill in interpreting, communicating and presenting information. Ability to thrive working in an environment with people from diverse backgrounds and age groups. Ability to demonstrate positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and a sense of humor in working with customers and coworkers. Ability to creatively solve problems, multi-task and prioritize.
Experience: Two years clerical experience. Experience working with integrated library system software preferred. Spanish language skills are a plus.
Special Requirements: A background and must be passed after the offer to hire has been made.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
