Job Description

Position Description Master's degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association, or from a master's level program in library and information studies accredited or recognized by the appropriate national body of another country. Three years experience in a special library. Online searching experience with a variety of medically focused search engines as well as the Internet. Evidence of teaching skills. Web page development experience. Preferred: membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals of the Medical Library Association . Three years experience in a health sciences library. Provide quality information services, and user education to meet the knowledge-based information needs of Penrose-St. Francis Medical Staff, residents, associates, patients, and the community. Manages all library operations including the selection and purchasing of electronic and print resources, filling article requests, performing online literature searches for physicians and associates, and handling all aspects of the operation of the library. Plans, organizes, and manages systems, services, and staff to support the Knowledge-Based Information (KBI) needs of medical staff, residents, employees, patients, and members of the community and the audiovisual needs of PSFHS education and management programs.
