(This position opening is subject to state funding approval for the 2012-2013 fiscal year) POSITION: Reference Librarian ASSIGNMENT: 1.0 FTE, Administrative Position Description: This full-time position exists to develop, promote, and supervise information literacy training and programs within the Learning Commons. This position will have primary responsibility for library reference services and for information literacy learning outcomes at ACC. Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s degree of Library Science or Master’s degree of Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution; • Experience delivering classroom instruction in information literacy; • Five (5) or more years of experience in an academic library; • Ability to work with web-based tools (particularly LibGuides, WebEx and Podcasts); and • Strong written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience providing reference services to diverse early undergraduate constituencies; • Expertise in contemporary information literacy standards and practices in higher education, including student learning outcomes and assessment; • Experience as an embedded librarian; • Experience with Interlibrary Loans; and • Strong verbal communication skills. PROJECTED STARTING DATE: December 1, 2012 COMPENSATION: Compensation is commensurate with education and experience. This position has a salary range beginning in the low 40’s.
