Presently we serve nearly 12,000 students per semester in our credit and non-credit programs and offer over 100 degree and certificate programs. POSITION: Coordinator, Learning Commons ASSIGNMENT: 1.0 FTE, Administrative Position Description: This full-time position exists to develop, promote, and supervise student learning and faculty development within the Learning Commons. This position will work within the Learning Commons and Library structures to promote the development of student learning across the curriculum and faculty development in several areas. Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s degree of Library Science or Master’s degree of Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution; • Experience supervising librarians and/or information professionals in an academic context/setting; • Five (5) or more years of experience in an academic library; and • Demonstrated experience in providing new digital resources to library patrons and strong commitment to the digital resourcing for students, faculty and staff. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience providing direct service to diverse early undergraduate constituencies; • Experience working with faculty and staff in a comprehensive community college context; • Expertise in contemporary standards and practices for learning commons development; • Experience with budget and purchasing management; and • Strong written and verbal communication skills. PROJECTED STARTING DATE: December 1, 2012 COMPENSATION: Compensation is commensurate with education and experience. This position has a salary range beginning in the upper 40’s.
