Job Description

Position Description: This full-time position exists to develop, promote, and supervise information literacy training and programs within the Learning Commons. This position will have primary responsibility for library reference services and for information literacy learning outcomes at ACC. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 30% Manage Print Circulation Operations: Oversee the circulation of all print books; help process incoming print material; manage overdue and fine systems; maintain the library reserve collection. 30% Supervise Student Workers: Hire, train, schedule and supervise all student workers who work with processing, shelving, and circulation of the library’s print materials. 20% Maintain & Analyze Library Statistics: Gather and analyze all library related statistics, including the use patterns of materials and trends in patron needs. Prepare written reports monthly and annually. 20% Manage Library Electronic & Printing Resources: Maintain the library’s collection of laptop computers, e-readers, and other circulating electronic hardware. Ensure that circulating equipment is restored to factory setting after each use. Work closely to IT to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly. Maintain printers and photocopiers and supervise cash register operations.

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience supervising student workers; • Two years of experience working with a diverse student body in a comprehensive community college; and • Strong verbal communication skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.
