Job Description

The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library is seeking applications for a positive, innovative and energetic Youth Services Supervisor. If you are really interested in making a difference in the lives of young people and enjoy a dynamic, child focused environment, the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library is the right place for you. Working with a dynamic and innovative staff, the Youth Services supervisor takes the lead role in developing, coordinating and implementing programs and services provided for young people birth through 18 years of age. We are looking for a leader who will: •inspire and foster creativity and innovation, building on current YS success •develop new initiatives like out-of-school-time programs for all ages, gaming tournaments and other activities focused on what matters most to children and teens •collaborate with the TSCPL Digital Branch development team to effectively utilize web-based resources •build strong partnerships throughout the Topeka and Shawnee County community •keep the library at the cutting edge by staying current with trends in early literacy, youth and teen issues •advocate for youth issues in the library and larger communities The Youth Services unit is part of the Public Services division. The supervisor reports to the Public Services Manager.
