POSITION: 07-201 LIBRARY TECHNICIAN Hiring Range: $15.31 – 18.38/hr. Computer Lab DIVISION: LONGMONT PUBLIC LIBRARY Part Time Benefited @20 hrs/week DEPARTMENT: COMMUNITY SERVICES Includes evenings & weekends (1 position open) DEFINITION: Provide assistance to customers in the computer services areas, and provide administrative and technical tasks in support of computer software and/or website maintenance. Enter data for, maintain, and compile statistical records as required. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a standard library environment, which includes exposure to dust. Requires the ability to move around the building and to access materials on shelves. Work requires light lifting/carrying, standing, walking bending and sufficient visual and physical capabilities to work on computers and associated equipment. Work requires repetitive motion to ender data on keyboard. Requires skills in working independently as well as with a group and communicating effectively with co-workers and public of diverse backgrounds. Irregular working schedule required including days, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of clerical and/or technical experience in a public library or area related to specific assignment. Bi-lingual Spanish/English proficiency desirable. Knowledge of routine procedures of public libraries. Ability to provide assistance and deal courteously and tactfully with library patrons.
