Job Description

Nature of Work: This is second level library technician work that includes such activities as processing Interlibrary Loan materials, scanning materials for electronic document delivery, shelving and retrieving materials as well as filing. Note: The eligible list that will be established will be used to fill both full-time and part-time positions. The first two positions available are full-time in the Access Services Department of the University Libraries. Both positions will assist in the daily scanning of documents for Interlibrary Loan (ILL) & Reserve, updating and shipping physical materials for ILL, shelving materials in Norlin Library and serves as a lead worker to students. One of these positions will also provide support for departmental billing operations.

Minimum Requirements: One year of full time (or equivalent) general library experience including keyboarding, ordering, preparing, shelving, and maintaining library materials. Substitution: One year of course work from an accredited college or university including six semester hours of library science course work may substitute for one year of general library experience. Note: A transcript copy must be submitted by application deadline if college course work is used to meet minimum qualifications. Exam Schedule: Applicants will be notified of the time, date, place, and type of examination required.
