Job Description

Nature of Work: As a member of the University Libraries' Computer Systems Technology Support Team, this position provides primary computer support for the University Libraries' 180 faculty and staff by managing the Libraries' internal technology support help desk; responding to requests for support; and troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with hardware, operating system, application, network connections. Also hires, trains, and supervises student assistants for help desk. In addition, this position assists other team members in configuring, deploying, and maintaining new hardware and software for the Libraries' faculty and staff as well as 300 public workstations. Responds to emergency outages of the Libraries' critical systems.

Please read all information: Help Desk Lead - IT TECHNICIAN II H2I2TX POSTING 801598 for position #107791 Paygrade H83 ($3568 - $5148) Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND two years of experience in a help desk or end user support along with experience with MS-Office software. Highly Desirable: The ideal candidate will have experience with MS-Windows Active Directory and familiarity with Ghost imaging software as well as enterprise anti-virus and patch management applications. Substitution: A combination of work experience in IT help desk or end user support, which provided the same kind, amount, and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the associate’s degree. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field may substitute for the required education and experience. Please Note: If education is used to meet the minimum requirements, you must submit a transcript copy by the closing date.
