The Community

Fort Morgan and Community

Fort Morgan is a friendly, open community with a strong sense of commitment to making this a great place to live and work.

Our community is rich in history and beauty. We pride ourselves on low crime rates, good schools and a plethora of parks and recreational activities to keep children and adults active.

Fort Morgan is the perfect blend of small town America and prosperity.

In Fort Morgan, knowing your neighbors is a way of life. Opportunities to get involved in any of our civic and community organizations will assure that you get to know a number of people throughout the community.

The Fort Morgan School District is comprised of five K-6 schools, one middle school, one high school and one alternative high school. There are also schools in the surrounding communities of Brush, Weldona, and Wiggins.

Fort Morgan is a town that really swings — especially if you're a Glenn Miller fan. The famous band leader spent his high-school years in this farm-ranch community on the eastern plains.

There’s a local museum, which tracks the area's history from the Pawnee and other Plains Indians to the settlement by farmers and ranchers who found the plains good for grazing and raising wheat.

If you're a bridge buff, be sure to stop and admire the Rainbow Arch Bridge just north of town. It's a rare example of this style of bridge architecture, and spans the Platte River.

Once known primarily for the hunting around its banks, Jackson Lake State Park has become one of Colorado's finest outdoor recreation and water sports sites. A variety of activities such as boating, waterskiing, fishing and swimming can all be enjoyed on the 2,700 surface-acre lake.

Quail Dune Golf Course, a beautiful and challenging 18 hole course, is open to the public.

Pawnee National Grassland sprawls across the plains from Fort Morgan to the Northeast section of Weld County. The endless horizon along the route is something to marvel.
