The Library Clerk I/II position is specialized library clerical work assisting in the operation of the library's circulation and providing exceptional customer service to library patrons. Incumbents in this position welcome library users and serve as the first point-of-entry to an engaging and positive library experience. This includes actively greeting customers, observing and responding to their needs, and assisting in creating a customer-friendly environment for library users. Position requires working some evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requires willingness to travel to work at all City library facilities.
The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting range of pay is dependent on qualifications and experience of each individual candidate.
There are currently two part-time, 20 hours per week, benefited positions available. One is at the Irving Street Library - 7392 Irving Street, Westminster, CO. Hours are Sunday: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday: 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The second position is at the College Hill Library - 3705 W. 112th Avenue, Westminster, CO. Hours for this position are Sunday: 12:00 - 5:00 p.m., Monday: 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications
Required:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Cash handling experience
- Experience in clerical or general library work
- Strong experience and skills in providing superior customer service
Preferred:
- Above average computer skills and experience
- Bilingual fluent in English and Spanish and/or Hmong are preferred in some of the Library Clerk positions
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered.
