Job Description
We are looking for a new member for our team. We want you to be creative, passionate and excited about working for our small but dynamic library district. You will be directing collection development and systems technology (ILS, acquisitions, cataloging, and processing) for five locations and responsible for coordinating one shared collection of about 175,000 items (physical and electronic) that reflect the unique interests of our five different communities. We need you to be budget savvy and creative with limited dollars.
Manages collection development and systems technology (ILS, acquisitions, cataloging, and processing) for five locations; selects materials for purchase, modifies or creates catalog records for materials of various formats according to professional standards and maintains an awareness of new literature, technologies and trends. Responsible for selection of materials as part of a centralized collection by evaluating and analyzing various collection areas, works collaboratively with the different location staff to facilitate access by library patrons. Responsible for working with vendors for ongoing maintenance of ILS, evaluating potential new services, features and functions that enhance service.
Additional Info & Requirements
Two years plus of professional experience working in a library. Proven initiative in prior positions is a must.
Experience in technical services, collection development and/or acquisitions.
Proficiency in technology, computers, Microsoft Office, the internet, basic knowledge of website management and other office equipment.
