Job Description

The City and County of Broomfield is recruiting for a full time Director of Library Services and Cultural Affairs (#2016-00114) . Salary range is $107,536 to $145,496 (DOQ) plus excellent benefits. Generally scheduled Monday through Friday between 8 am - 5 pm. Additional hours as required. Applications will be accepted through 5 pm on May 13, 2016. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, lead and support a talented staff, build on outstanding community support and work strategically with staff, other city and county departments, residents and community organizations to create a shared vision of future library and cultural services and programs. Broomfield welcomes candidates with a broad background in library services and cultural affairs including at least three years of senior leadership level experience in a public library setting or comparable senior leadership experience in a multi-faceted organization. The successful candidate oversees and manages a single site library facility, community auditorium, local history museum and public art program.

The position is a highly responsible senior staff-level professional, providing leadership, strategic direction and supervision for assigned department.

Incumbent serves as the departmental leader and is committed to innovation, creativity, service excellence, and transforming local government through leading ideas and practices. The incumbent serves as a key designer, promoter, motivator, and catalyst for the alignment of culture with organizational values within the department.

The incumbent performs professional, managerial and leadership duties relating to planning, directing, organizing, implementing, and coordinating all programs, materials, sites and activities of the library, visual and performing cultural arts programs, and museums in Broomfield.
