Job Description
The job entails training and supporting library staff in performing basic circulation functions (i.e., check-in, check-out, holds, claims, notices, etc.), managing the circulation desk, overseeing the use of public computers, and scheduling the staff at the library. Individuals need to be organized, personable, and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Library experience required.
The Community
The New Castle Branch Library is located in the historic downtown area of New Castle, Colorado. The library has been at the current location, 402 W Main Street, since 1968. It has undergone several renovations; the most recent was completed in April 2013. The newly renovated building features a beautiful fireplace and reading area, local history room, teen area, interactive children's area, and community meeting room. The library has become a vibrant part of the community offering programming for all ages.
