The Community

Our Library is centrally located in the scenic, rural community of Gilpin County, less than an hour’s drive from downtown Denver and Boulder. Over 50% of the county is made up of Public Lands that include part of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Golden Gate Canyon State Park, the largest state park in Colorado. Residents enjoy the vast beauty and recreational opportunities of the Rocky Mountains, a state-of-the art Community Center and Fairgrounds, low taxes and a financially secure local government while still having access to the shopping and cultural activities of urban areas “just down the hill.”
