Colorado School of Mines invites applications for the position of University Librarian.
Reporting to the Provost, the University Librarian leads the Arthur Lakes Library in its mission to support the informational needs of the campus, to articulate a strategic vision for the Library, to serve as an advocate for the Library, and to work effectively in the STEM environment that is the Colorado School of Mines. Facilitating the ongoing transformation of the Library into a student-centered academic hub, the University Librarian integrates diverse resources and technologies, seeks new opportunities, collaborates with university constituents, and cultivates a vibrant research and learning community. The University Librarian fosters an organizational and educational climate that promotes diversity and provides effective leadership to Library faculty, staff, and students to collectively achieve our strategic initiatives.
Additional Info & Requirements
Required is a Master of Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent and successful progressive experience in academic library administration including personnel management, project management, budget management and conflict resolution. Also required are proven leadership and collaborative skills and experience establishing budget priorities. The successful candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills in a multicultural environment and a record of professional and scholarly accomplishments. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a degree or experience working in a STEM institution.
