Job Description

The Auraria Library is searching for a knowledgeable and energetic librarian to fill a temporary Instruction Librarian position due to a retirement.  This position is responsible for developing and delivering one-time, course-integrated instruction sessions to undergraduate students as part of a robust instruction program that values active learning approaches and techniques.  The successful candidate will also deliver research help services in person and virtually.  Participating in various outreach activities to build campus and community partnerships and creating and maintaining web guides, tutorials, and other digital learning objects are also responsibilities within this position.  The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing and have the ability to prioritize various teaching assignments, departmental initiatives, and outreach.  

Compensation: $24/hr. commensurate with education and experience. 

Work schedule: 32-40 hours per week, typically 8:00am-5:00pm, some evening hours may be required. 

Screening Date: This position is open until filled. Screening will begin immediately.

Start Date: As soon after screening as practical. This is a 9-month temporary appointment. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school or program. Degree must be conferred before start date.  
  • Experience teaching information literacy in a post-secondary academic library.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing research help services.
  • Experience with creating digital learning objects, tutorials, or modules.
