Our team of five plus student staff serves approximately 1,200 traditional undergraduates and 4,500 adult and distance learners in a dynamic and growing academic library. The library offers a creative and friendly environment that focuses on student and faculty support. We are a flexible team that embraces new technology and user demands to provide excellent library service. Colorado Christian University is a growing institution that is building a new campus in Lakewood and the library team is excited to move the library forward as well.
The Reference and Web Library Coordinator is a part time position who will assist and work closely with the Outreach and Instruction Librarian. The library staff serves approximately 1,000 traditional undergraduate students and 4,000 adult and distance learners with a commitment to excellence.
This 16-week position is a 12 hours a week, hourly position. This position may include some evening and weekend hours. This position would work ideally from September 19th – November 11th, 2016 and February 20th –April 14th, 2017.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides reference through the Book A Librarian service to CCU students
- Helps to design and publish course and subject guides using LibGuides
- Staff IM and SMS chat references
- Help produce library tutorials using an array of software and web tools
- Work collaboratively on a team and independently
- Build and maintain effective relationships with faculty and students
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong customer service skills.
- Interest in pursuing a career in academic librarianship
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, flexible, and adaptable
- Able to balance creativity and practicality
- Effective written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with bibliographic instruction, group presentation, and Sierra ILS preferred
- Familiarity with course management software, Adobe Creative Suite, and LibGuides or a similar products preferred
- Experience with reference both in person and online
Spiritual Requirements
- Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
- Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
- Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
- Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Objectives promulgated by the University.
Nature of Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk; stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; speak with clarity, have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. Requires sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and conducting phone conversations for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
