Job Description

Are you a fiction aficionado? Do you find that you can often anticipate the next bestseller? Do you know what’s hot and which author’s holds list will fill up quick? Are you in touch with the publishing world reviewing everything from Rolling Stone to Publisher’s Weekly?

If you answered yes to these questions you might be Boulder Public Library’s next Collection Development Librarian!

We are looking for a team player who is familiar with materials selection platforms for all major book and media types.  In addition to selection duties, we are looking for someone well versed in the art of collection maintenance. A leader in the weeding charge and able to guide the library in procedures to keep the collection new, fresh, and inviting.  A champion of intellectual freedom, who understands the importance of a collection that reflects our community. A problem solver who values responsive, personal customer service and are great on the public floor helping library patrons with all types of questions. Excellent in the Web and subscription database environment, and able to help patrons at very busy service desks in a Main library environment.
