Job Description
The JCPL Facilities Division is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join their team. They are looking for a well-organized problem solver who can work under limited supervision on a variety of tasks. Flexibility, follow-through, and teamwork are an integral part of this position. Essential Duties
- Repairs and maintains machinery, plumbing, electrical wiring, fixtures and physical structures of library buildings in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and building codes, using a variety of tools.
- Troubleshoots heating and air conditioning problems and oversees repairs.
- Installs, reconfigures, and removes systems office furniture.
- Paints and patches walls.
- Sets up various meeting spaces for public and staff.
- Moves and removes furniture, boxes of supplies, books and materials.
- Maintains and orders parts for equipment, including book sorters.
- Receives and prioritizes work requests.
- Performs various administrative tasks, including ProCard processing.
- Responds to building emergencies in the evening and on weekends when scheduled to do so.
- Performs various tasks on an as needed basis, including snow removal and light landscaping.
Qualifications
- Education: Four years of high school education or equivalency.
- Experience: Over one year of related work experience, three years preferred.
- Level of knowledge necessary to understand basic operational and technical processes as required for the position.
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds or more.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills as required for the position.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License.

- Must work a flexible schedule including days, some evenings and weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be available for on call rotation.
- Offer of employment contingent on criminal history check and motor vehicle record check.
