Job Description

What You'd Do:

Work downtown at the Central Library managing IT projects related to the development and maintenance of Denver Public Library's dynamic range of digital services, including its websites. Play a critical role in leading the Digital User Experience team to build world-class digital services for a world-class city. Identify areas of improvement and conceptualize methods on how to be more efficient. Work to build an environment of continuous improvement where the common goal is to deliver outstanding digital services that provide value to the community as quickly as possible. Facilitate planning and meetings using techniques related to Agile, Scrum and Sprint concepts. Provide effective collaboration, facilitation and leadership in supporting Agile development process and delivery of applications. Guide team to adhere to Agile-based standards, tools and best practices, including process documentation. Participate in cross-divisional leadership teams.

A Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.

Three years of professional experience in full life cycle development of web applications.

Two years of  experience in practicing Agile techniques (Scrum, Kanban, XP), preferably in a servant leadership capacity. First or Second level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I, PSM II).

Experience applying techniques (e.g. Planning Poker) for estimating and prioritizing a Product Backlog.

Experience working with interactive/web development teams to deliver large-scale projects on time and within budget.

Experience in the mobile app development space (preferred, not required).

Experience with Drupal (preferred, not required).

Experience working with PHP, HTML, CSS, jQuery, and MySQL (preferred, not required).

Although the full salary range for this position is provided, offers depend on qualifications and typically do not exceed the midpoint.  The City and County of Denver benefit package will be offered.

The schedule will be determined by the needs of a department that encourages a healthy work-life balance and will rarely ask for hours to be worked outside a normal workday.
