Purpose of Position
This position resides at the New Mexico State Library located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This part-time position will support the New Mexico Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (LBPH) in areas of direct readers services and support and outreach to prospective and eligible patrons. In addition to providing reader advised services to print impaired readers in the selection of book and magazine titles in specialized audio and braille formats, the position works to increase public awareness about the program including talks and demonstrations to groups. LPBH supports about 3,000 patrons statewide with annual audio book circulation of over 100,000. LPBH works in coordination with the National Library Services for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS). LPBH is dedicated to increasing awareness of this free program available to eligible citizens of New Mexico. This position performs and provides operational library technical operations, effective library and information services, basic copying experience, and promoting program awareness through information distribution and public presentations.
This position will not be hired above the mid-point of the pay band.
