Job Description

Acquisitions Operations Manager – 06719, University Staff

The University Libraries Acquisition Services unit acquires and receives approximately 25,000 items annually for the library collection. Acquisitions range from delicate and rare artist books for Special Collections to large volumes of patron-selected ebooks, all demanding workflows that address the unique needs of the particular item or format, while maintaining efficiency with the high volume of work.

What your key responsibilities will be:

The University of Colorado Boulder Libraries invites application from collaborative and organized professionals to manage the daily operations of our Acquisition Services unit. Reporting to the Head of Acquisition Services, you will lead and execute the logistics and business processes for effective and efficient acquisition and receipt of library collection resources in all formats—print books, e-books, maps, dvds, scores, special collections materials, gift-in-kind donations, and emerging formats. This is a critical role as it directly correlates to advancing the teaching and research needs of faculty and supporting student success by managing the logistics of acquiring resources for our patrons. This position calls for a rare combination of analytical thinking, systems thinking, leadership, and interpersonal skills to manage relationships among staff, student employees, colleagues, librarians, faculty, and vendors. The ability to operate collaboratively will be key to your success and you will have decision-making responsibilities impacting a broad range of colleagues and units across the Libraries.

What we can offer:

Base salary for this position will be between $48,000 and $55,000 annually, depending on your background and experience. In addition, the University of Colorado offers excellent benefits, including medical, dental, retirement (with a 2-for-1 employer match), generous paid time off, tuition benefit and RTD ECO Bus Pass.  The University of Colorado Boulder is one of the largest employers in Boulder County and offers an inspiring higher education environment.  Learn more about the University of Colorado Boulder.
