The Board of Trustees of the Arapahoe Library District seeks a creative and visionary leader—an engaged and energetic administrator—committed to ensuring that the Arapahoe Library District continues to provide innovative library services for this diverse and culturally rich library district. The District was established in 1966 by the Arapahoe County Commissioners and the Deer Trail School Board, but is an independent taxing jurisdiction, governed by an appointed Board of Trustees. The Arapahoe Library District encompasses most of Arapahoe County and provides service to 619,000 suburban and rural residents in the service area. Arapahoe Libraries take great pride in their knowledgeable staff, top-notch facilities, the services they offer, and the information, fun, and entertainment they deliver. With a $32 million annual budget (the result of a successful mill levy increase in 2015) and a staff of 295 (244 FTEs), Arapahoe Libraries welcomed 1.9 million visitors to its eight libraries and its mobile and virtual services, and loaned 4.74 million items last year—and they can’t wait to see where they go from here! The Library District is enthusiastically supported in its efforts by the Arapahoe Library Friends’ Foundation—raising additional funds from the private sector and serving as the District’s advocacy group. The Foundation and the vital Friends of the Arapahoe Library District, support a delightful array of library programs, services and experiences. Are you the exceptional individual ready to lead this dynamic organization? Let’s find out!
