Summary Description:
Working in a collaborative and service-oriented environment, the Collections Librarian heads the library’s collection development efforts and has primary responsibility for building and managing library collections within the evolving environment of scholarly communication.

Required Qualifications:
Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited institution plus a minimum of three years of post-MLS professional experience; understanding of historical, current and emerging models of scholarly publishing; broad knowledge of collection processes and issues in academic libraries; supervisory experience; budget management; reference experience; excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that is insurable by Colorado College’s motor vehicle insurance carrier.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five years of post-MLS professional experience; two or more years of supervisory experience; knowledge of or experience working with library vendors; experience with III Millennium ILS; experience in an undergraduate liberal arts institution; experience working in a collaborative higher education environment.
