Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Software Systems Administrator to complement our Library IT team.  The person selected for this position will have the opportunity to use a varied and important set of skills and experience that will directly impact our staff and patrons.  If you enjoy research and evaluation of software systems – all the way through to implementation, training and support, you may find this position to be a match.

  • Experience with Powershell, KACE, SCCM, group policy and application packaging with silent installation to deploy upgrades and software packages is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of batch VBS, WMI and MSI installations preferred.
  • Experience with Application Wrapper and hardware independent imaging preferred.
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement the configuration and user interface for patron and staff PCs.
  • Research, test and implement system wide software and utilize deployment tools.
  • Review operational procedures to determine best use of software to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Design and conduct training of JCPL staff on standard office automation and specific Library software.
  • Install and configure application software, applying new releases and upgrades.
  • Establish SOPs for testing new releases and upgrades to ensure quality results.
  • Research, develop, test and implement Users, groups, applications, system directories and files on server platforms.
  • Grant access permissions and ensure compliance with security standards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work days, some evenings and weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Offer of employment is contingent on criminal history check, motor vehicle record check, and education verification.
