Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Budget Development, Analysis and Execution

  • Assist business units with budget preparation, justification, interpretation and review for completeness and adherence to Library and County goals.
  • Analyze and evaluate requests from business units for change in budget allocations for staffing, facilities, systems and equipment throughout the fiscal year.
  • Perform budget analysis and monitor legal, policy and procedural compliance for Library business units.
  • Identify and analyze variance in budget information to identify potential for service delivery improvements.
  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of annual budget documentation for delivery to staff, Board of Trustees and County Commissioners. 
  • Prepare graphic presentations to improve information comprehension.

Financial Planning

  • Coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize and prepare recommendations.
  • Project future trends and results to achieve goals with available resources.
  • Maintain liaisons with other departments within and outside the Library.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in business unit operations to ensure program functions are efficient and cost effective.
  • Conduct research and prepare reports related to financial analysis, statistical analysis and government requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • At least one year related experience, three years preferred.
  • Education focus in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration or equivalent combination of education and comparable level of experience.
  • Collaboration and communication skills highly desirable.
  • Must have a valid Colorado driver's license.
