Growing Readers Together is a new grant-funded early literacy initiative for Colorado libraries and those caring for children under five in unlicensed homes. The Coordinator, based in Denver, will establish state-level partnerships focused in early literacy efforts for unlicensed caregivers of children under the age of five. This person will oversee all aspects of the grant, including procurement of early literacy materials for libraries and caregivers, training, marketing, and grant management and reporting. This position is perfect for you if you like launching new projects, facilitating meaningful change, and working with a dynamic and enthusiastic group of people both at the State Library and throughout Colorado.  Spanish is a plus as we engage with families and caregivers in both English and Spanish.

*Note: This is a nine month grant position. Continuation of this position after nine months is based on the availability of the funds.

Required qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in large scale project management and leadership with grant projects and/or community initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in offering training, facilitation, and/or presentations to parents, childcare providers, or other adult audiences. 
  • Demonstrated success with developing partnerships that lead to program development.
  • Proficiency with technology, including web development, social media, and online publications.
  • Willing to travel as much as bi-weekly or as little as bi-monthly within Colorado.
  • The ability to pass a background check.
