Job Description
This multi-faceted position is part archivist and part librarian. Provides archival arrangement and description for collections, including but not limited to, documents, photographs, blueprints, and other archival materials. Evaluates priorities based on content and condition of documents. Performs research and analysis of materials, creating original finding aids. Provides reference in gardening and horticulture and performs circulation duties.
Schedule is Thursday - Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Community
Master's degree or equivalent, preferably an MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution; or minimum four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent public services skills and communication skills, written and verbal. Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently. A background in gardening and horticulture is highly desirable. Knowledge of horticultural, botanical, and gardening topics preferred. The work requires that the employee have demonstrated knowledge, skill and ability working with archival collections.
