Job Description

Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Libraries at University of Northern Colorado (UNC) [unco.edu/library] seeks a collaborative individual for the position of Library Research Services Lecturer, position number F99473. This is a half-time, 9-month (August – May), contract-renewable position that reports to the Head of Library Research Services (LRS).

The Library Research Services department supports campus scholarship across the disciplines, from undergraduates to faculty, through the provision of research consultations, instruction, and collection development. The LRS department collaborates to foster the ongoing development of the Libraries’ scholarly communication program.

The successful candidate will work with the LRS department head and LRS liaison librarians to achieve departmental objectives. Responsibilities include providing online and face-to-face research consultations; delivering library instruction; creating online learning objects; providing collection development assistance; and completing special projects related to departmental goals as assigned.

Successful applicants are committed to quality service in an academic environment and have excellent communication and organizational skills. The position is half time during university fall and spring semesters, with some flexibility in scheduling.

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school or program awarded by start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience providing research support services via chat, email, phone, and face-to-face interactions; experience delivering library instruction; experience creating online tutorials and help guides; experience with collection development activities; awareness of scholarly communication issues in higher education.
