Job Description

This position exists to direct the operation of the Circulation unit, splitting the coverage of the hours of operation with other circulation staff; open and close the library; train and supervise student employees, community service workers, and volunteers; oversee the check in/out of materials; process overdue fines and bills for lost materials; process reserve materials; monitor physical status of shelves, overseeing shifting of materials as necessary; provide reference assistance on a limited scale; and perform other tasks as necessary to fulfill the mission of the unit.  Shift work is required as the Library is open until midnight, and occasionally 2am, as well as weekends.

Additional Info & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:  Two years of general library experience including typing, ordering, preparing, shelving, and maintaining library materials.  Two years of coursework from an accredited college or university, including 12 semester hours of library science course work, may substitute for two years of the general library experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Library Circulation experience; Experience working with Innovative Interface's Millennium or Sierra ILS; Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Supervisory experience (students, staff, or volunteers).
