Job Description

The incumbent serves as an expert professional information specialist who is responsible for a variety of library duties including reference services and cataloging. The Librarian is required to have extensive knowledge of the techniques for locating, organizing, and disseminating technical information; to apply that knowledge to achieve the unit's information service mission; and to provide guidance and training to other staff members in these functions. The Librarian is also expected to have sufficient knowledge of natural resources and related subjects to be able to ascertain the significance, relationship, appropriateness, and relevance of the concepts and ideas contained in the technical information products.
