Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Director for Impact & Innovation, the Librarian for Digital Impact & Innovation will have primary responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the library’s discovery strategies across multiple web-based platforms, assuring users a consistent, high-impact experience as they use library systems, services, and content. In support of these goals the Librarian for Digital Impact & Innovation will support and advise on library metadata strategies and services that assure discoverability of library content and services; and support excellence in user experiences of the library’s systems and web site, through analysis, design, and support of the library’s use of content management systems. In collaboration with library research and instruction services, they will also have the opportunity to participate in providing direct consultative or instructional support to students and faculty, with an emphasis on supporting emerging digital scholarship.

Additional Info & Requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of metadata standards used in libraries, archives, publishing, and research management systems.  

Demonstrated experience using library service and content management systems, including at least one library product or system that manages library inventory, electronic resources, and metadata.

Knowledge of current and recent trends in search, discovery, and delivery systems, and/or understanding of different user communities and user search behavior in academic settings.

Knowledge of trends and developments in digital scholarship and enthusiasm for creative and approaches to using digital tools and systems to accomplish scholarly goals.

Knowledge of web technologies, metadata manipulation, web analytics, and accessibility standards.

Knowledge of CSS3, XHTML, and HTML5, and scripting languages.
