Arapahoe Libraries is looking for a creative, engaging trainer who is excited about developing and teaching technology of all languages to our patrons. Location: Support Services, 12855 E. Adam Aircraft Circle, Englewood, CO 80112
Reports to: Manager of Strategic Programming
Position: 40 hour, full-time, Non-Exempt position
Pay: $20.14 - $25.17 per hour
Role: Plans and delivers cloud computing and coding technology classes for patrons of all ages
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
30% DEVELOPMENT - Aligns cloud computing and coding classes with the District's goals and objectives, and with the identified interests of patrons; Works within the internal processes and workflow of department. Develops class schedules for self and staff on a trimester basis; Responsible for entry of information into meeting reservation system; Keeps cloud computing and coding classes current by extending own ideas, and those submitted by patrons and staff where possible; Creates and updates handouts for patrons to use in class; Updates descriptions for classes; Works with staff to develop cloud computing and coding classes along with identify learning opportunities for additional technology courses for patrons.
25% RESEARCH - Explores ideas for clouding computing and coding classes by researching public library and technology trends, scanning current periodicals, and searching the Internet; Solicits and reviews input from staff and patrons.
15% EVALUATION & RECOMMENDATION - Assesses classes at each library by evaluating available data and incorporates this information when making recommendations to supervisor; Provides effective evaluation and recommendation of classes; Proposes schedule for classes that meet patron needs and satisfy the preferred times of patrons as much as possible;
30% TRAINING – Plans and teaches cloud computing and coding technology classes to patrons
Qualifications:
At least two years of experience with developing and presenting content related to cloud computing, coding or related experience with developing and presenting technology content.
Bachelor's degree, required
Intermediate knowledge of one or more coding languages such as python, CSS, Ruby, etc., required.
Ability to travel to and work in multiple facilities with varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, required.
Advanced technology skills for Chromebooks, Office 365, and Google Docs, required.
Ability to effectively present information in a public setting to diverse audiences, required.
Ability to communicate class content in a positive and engaging manner.
Ability to demonstrate innovation and flexibility.
Ability to embrace the constant challenge of learning new tools, software and technology.
Ability to focus on the customer, show integrity, be inclusive, enjoy learning and have fun. Ability to exercise confidence and excitement in the vast technological and online resources the Library District has available.
Ability to successfully work with varying demographics, required.

Arapahoe County and other major suburban counties make up the greater metropolitan area surrounding Denver, Colorado. The Arapahoe Library District operates eight branch libraries, including mobile library services, and a library at the County Detention Center, funded by the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department. A seven-member Board of Trustees sets the library budget and determines policy.
